Clinical examination revealed a marked transverse over-curvature of the toenail, compressing the underlying nail bed — a classic presentation of Pincer Nail Deformity, a painful variant of an ingrown toenail.

Understanding Pincer Nail Deformity

Pincer nail deformity occurs when the sides of the nail curve inward excessively, compressing the soft tissue beneath. This constant pressure causes pain, tenderness, swelling, and may lead to secondary infections if left untreated.
