We were delighted to attend COSDERMINDIA 2026 – the 29th Annual Congress of the Cosmetic Dermatology Society of India (CDSI), held from 6th to 9th August 2026 at The Westin Mumbai Powai Lake, Mumbai. The four-day congress brought together leading dermatologists, plastic surgeons, aesthetic physicians and international experts for an intensive exchange of knowledge in cosmetic dermatology, lasers, injectables, hair restoration, dermatosurgery and regenerative aesthetics.

Learning Beyond the Clinic

COSDERMINDIA 2026 provided an opportunity to step away from daily clinical practice and explore the rapidly evolving science behind modern aesthetic medicine.

The scientific program, themed “History, Science and Therapeutics,” featured keynote lectures, panel discussions, live demonstrations, research presentations and hands-on learning.

International faculty and experienced Indian specialists shared new perspectives on clinical decision-making, advanced techniques and patient safety.

Advanced Injectables & Facial Anatomy

One of the major highlights was the focus on facial anatomy and injectable treatments.

Sessions covered treatment approaches for areas including the cheeks, temples, tear troughs, forehead, lips, jawline, chin and neck, along with discussions on toxins, fillers, regenerative biostimulation and management of injectable complications.

The key clinical message was clear:

Successful aesthetic outcomes begin with anatomy, patient assessment and sound clinical judgment—not simply with a product or device.

Lasers, Melasma & Pigmentation Treatment

Another important area of learning was the management of pigmentation and melasma, particularly relevant to Indian skin.

Discussions included:

  • Q-switched laser treatments
  • Picosecond laser technologies
  • Personalized pigmentation protocols
  • Melasma management
  • Laser-assisted treatments
  • Fractional and energy-based devices

The conference reinforced the growing importance of individualized treatment planning rather than applying the same laser protocol to every patient.

Acne Scar Management: A Combination Approach

Acne scar treatment was another major focus at COSDERMINDIA.

Different technologies and procedures—including microneedling, MNRF, fractional CO₂ laser, Er:YAG laser and scar revision techniques—were discussed extensively.

An important takeaway was that acne scars are highly variable. Effective treatment depends on scar type, skin tone, downtime, expectations and the appropriate combination of procedures.

Hair Restoration & Regenerative Dermatology

Hair loss management continues to evolve rapidly, and the congress showcased several emerging approaches in this field.

Topics included PRP, exosome-based therapies, genetic approaches to hair loss, hair transplantation, graft optimization and newer technologies for hair restoration.

These sessions provided valuable insights into combining medical therapy with procedural and regenerative approaches for more comprehensive hair-loss management.

Technology, AI & Patient Safety

COSDERMINDIA 2026 went beyond aesthetic procedures.

Sessions also explored AI in trichology, clinical software, PDRN, skin boosters, body contouring, practice management and procedural emergencies.

Particular emphasis was placed on patient safety, emergency preparedness and responsible patient selection.

For us, this reinforced an essential principle of modern aesthetics:

Innovation must always be supported by science, ethics and safety.

The Value of Professional Exchange

Some of the most valuable learning happened outside formal lectures.

Discussing difficult cases with colleagues, understanding how other specialists approach common clinical challenges and exchanging real-world experiences provided perspectives that cannot always be gained from textbooks alone.

For both of us, COSDERMINDIA was therefore not simply about learning new procedures—it was about refining judgment and bringing better ideas back into clinical practice.

Taking COSDERMINDIA 2026 Back to Our Patients

Ultimately, every academic conference should answer one important question:

How will this knowledge improve patient care?

Our strongest takeaway from COSDERMINDIA 2026 is that the future of dermatology lies in thoughtfully integrating:

Medical Dermatology + Lasers + Injectables + Dermatosurgery + Hair Restoration + Regenerative Medicine + Technology

while keeping the patient—not the procedure—at the centre of every decision.

We return from Mumbai with renewed enthusiasm, refined perspectives and a commitment to continuously improving the care we provide at G Square Skin, Hair & Plastic Surgery Clinic, Hubballi.
